About Baldwin, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Baldwin, Michigan is a small city located in Lake County. It also serves as the county seat and was home to about 1,200 residents as of the 2010 census. The city is found on the Baldwin River about three miles north of the confluence with the Pere Marquette River, and it is one of the top water recreation areas in the state. Baldwin Community Schools serves the community, and the district includes Baldwin High School.

Despite the small population of Baldwin, the community is actually a tourist town. Lake County features many rivers and lakes, and visitors enjoy camping, fishing, hunting, and canoeing. The Manistee National Forest provides ample outdoor space, and golf enthusiasts will want to visit the Marquette Trails Golf Club. The Shrine of the Pines is a popular destination for visitors, as if offers an extensive collection of early 20th-century American furniture. Local tours are also available and include Fly Fishing Michigan Rivers and J and J River Guides.

Despite being located in the middle of the U.S., Baldwin experiences maritime effects due to its location to the east of Lake Michigan. This can be especially problematic in the winter, as conditions can become cold and quite snowy. Lake effect snow can lead to major snowstorms, and with average daily highs in the low-30s, conditions can become dangerous both indoors and outdoors. A reliable gas or electric furnace is a necessity for residents to stay safe and comfortable throughout the season.

Summers in the region are humid and very warm. Average high temperatures reach the low-80s during July and August, and many visitors and locals enjoy spending time outdoors throughout the season. Still, most residents will want an energy efficient central air conditioner at home. Not only will these systems keep indoor temperatures comfortable, but they can also improve air quality by removing dust, germs, and allergens.
